Great Escape: Getting Physically Fit
Well, the long winter months are almost over and you owe it to yourself to grab a friend and go work out this weekend.
Winter's end is almost here and with winter often comes, inactivity, weight gain, and depression. To avoid the late winter blues this weekend, find a friend, head to the gym and develop a regular workout schedule.
One popular workout facility is the Jewish Community Center. On the website, JCC Health, Recreation, & Fitness Director Carolyn Destache says, "We all need to continue to move in whatever way works best for us personally, we need to take care of ourselves in terms of health and well-being – exercise, eat well and find a mode of relaxation that works for you."
Whether it is walking, dancing or riding a bike, physical fitness has many surprising benefits. It strengthens muscles and bones and increases our flexibility, which helps those suffering from diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis.
