Where Were Your Kids Tuesday Morning?

A fun day at the Whitefish Bay Rec Department's playground program.

The sky was blue and there was loads of sunshine. It was the perfect morning to do what 130 kids (by my count) were doing, which was simply, playing. Kids were playing steal the bacon, scatterball, sharks and minnows, and wiffle ball. They were hulahooping and playing frisbee. They were making lanyards and beading. And they were having a great time.

The kids were playing together as part of the Whitefish Bay Recreation Department’s playground program. Tuesday was unusual because the Klode and the Cahill playground programs were together in one place (Klode) due to the voting at Cahill. The programs usually are run separately. But what was usual was the fun that kids of different ages and abilities were having as a result of a field, friends, and some direction and encouragement from instructors and volunteers.    It was fun just watching!
