..When Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) initiated a high-profile effort to bust his state’s public sector unions in 2011, he said that he had no interest in pursuing similar efforts against private sector unions. “Private sector unions are my partner in economic development,” Walker has said. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel noted that he “has consistently downplayed seeking any restrictions on private unions in public statements.”

Walker also said in December that “he wouldn’t pursue any new bills on public or private unions in the coming legislative session.” However, word evidently did not get down to his Republican colleagues, who introduced and are fast-tracking a bill to allow employers to cut hours of union workers without the unions’ consent:

Allowing businesses to cut hours instead of laying off without having to obtain consent of the unions seems reasonable. Certainly not something that will 'bust' unions or force decertifications...

I don't sehow either bill is detrimental to private unions. So rather tha post that Walker is a liar, why don't you elaborate onhow this adversly affects private unions.

These bills seem to be exclusive to unemployment benefits, requirements for someone t receve benefits, and a way to keep workers on in a reduced capacity with the employee getting partial benefits.

I am pleased to report an incredible letter from the CEO of Titan to Arnaud Montebourg, Minister of Industrial Renewal of France, criticizing not only French unions but unions in the USA.

Goodyear tried for over four years to save part of the Amiens jobs that are some of the highest paid, but the French unions and French government did nothing but talk.

I have visited the factory a couple of times. The French workforce gets paid high wages but works only three hours. They get one hour for breaks and lunch, talk for three, and work for three. I told this to the French union workers to their faces. They told me that's the French way!

Sir, your letter states you want Titan to start a discussion. How stupid do you think we are? Titan is the one with money and talent to produce tires. What does the crazy union have? It has the French government. The French farmer wants cheap tire. He does not care if the tires are from China or India and governments are subsidizing them. Your government doesn't care either. "We're French!"

Titan is going to buy a Chinese tire company or an Indian one, pay less than one Euro per hour and ship all the tires France needs. You can keep the so-called workers. Titan has no interest in the Amien North factory.

Why wold businesses need to ask the union thugs? Sounds like more common sense legislation.

Walker already accomplished more positive things for the state than Corupt Gov. Jim Doyle. Walker cleaned up his mess and is moving the state forward. Unions can be part of the mix but they need to stand on there own feet. Frankly, Most of theyre Pensions which they run are Ponsi Schemes. I know the one I was in sends out letters on a regularr basis that the fund is in "CRITICAL" state. That basically means they wont meet there long term obligations to the members. And its a teamster fund. Too bad these union pensions arent being run with any fiscal responsibility. They like so many will be entering the GOVT bailout fund which is also broke. DO THE MATH and WALKER makes a lot of sense.

Right to Work suggests that an employee must be qualified to do the job--and is paid by skills, education, efficiency and results. Unionization reinforces mediocre, inept, over payment for skills and education instead of earning it in the free market. Unionized workers are never held to account for results. As the skill and educational level of too many Americans drop and when pitted against World competition, unions and their demands insure the death of American industry.

It is time to accept reality. Scott Walker has no interest in Wisconsin or what its interests are. He is solely interested in riding this TeaPublican, Conservative/Purist, train that only serves his national ambitions. He has no problem leaving the state in the same ruins that Milwaukee County is in when he left the County Executive role.

He will finish his term – run for President – then settle into a nice multi-million dollar analyst role at FoxNews “preaching to the faithful.” Write some books, lecture tour… Hey, it’s good work if you can get it. All he has to continue to do is push an agenda that will destroy this state’s middle class.

Obamacare is the big knife in the heart of the private sector unions, and they know this. It seems like the unions bosses, the Democrats, are looking for any issue to shift the blame of the private union demise. SB26 is being used both as a scapegoat and as a smoke screen to make the unions look like they are still needed. The unions should be using this time and effort to remake themselves to be of value to their members, but faking it is easier.

And still, the author or anyone drinkingfrom leftwing utopian fountain cannot explain how these bills are for union busting... Hmmm...

So Bren dumps this load and then never comes back to clean it up? Nice!

Madison - A federal court gave groups suing the state broad access Monday to three computers used by the Legislature to develop Republican friendly voting maps.

The Legislature "must make these three computers available in their entirety immediately" to the groups suing the state, the three judges wrote.

"The computers are extremely likely to contain relevant and responsive materials that should have been disclosed during pretrial discovery. Moreover, Plaintiffs have established that substantial numbers of documents were not disclosed, which satisfies the court that some form of 'fraud, misrepresentation, or misconduct' likely occurred," the unanimous opinion said.

The ruling provided the latest setback for Republican lawmakers, who have consistently resisted releasing documents in the case. It will give the plaintiffs a chance to determine whether legislators and their attorneys improperly withheld additional documents before the case went to trial.

Boy, I wonder if there have been any developments involving that John Doe and Scott Walker. After all, the Patch has never hesitated to report on even the slightest hint of negative news regarding the John Doe.
