Whitefish Bay will kick off the holiday season with the annual Holiday Stroll on Friday.
Special holiday promotions and shopping specials will be offered throughout the day in downtown Whitefish Bay. The evening features a tree lighting ceremony, food, music, and entertainment, including the annual holiday parade which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
People of all ages will enjoy Silver Spring Drive as shops stay open late offering specials and treats. Kids will enjoy pony rides, train rides, or a visit with Santa and his reindeer. And with a wide array of distinctive shopping in a relaxed atmosphere, everyone can conveniently cross things off their holiday list.
“The Holiday Stroll is an incredible tradition,” said John Stuhlmacher, President of the BID Board of Directors. “The community comes year after year as our shops put out their best and our streets are filled with spirit. It’s a wonderful way to start the season.”
Chief Robert Whitaker of North Shore Fire Rescue will lead this year’s parade to honor and thank North Shore Fire for their service and dedication. First responders are a precious part of the community considering the safety and security they provide. As the country’s thoughts are with those affected by Hurricane Sandy, it is an honor to have first responders serving as dignitaries in this year’s Holiday Stroll.
Revisit refined shopping with your friends and loved ones during a stroll along Silver Spring Drive this holiday season. Enjoy live scenes in store windows by dancers in full costume from the Milwaukee Ballet School. The Milwaukee Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker (December 8-26) is the city’s biggest holiday spectacle creating memories year after year. Visit milwaukeeballet.org or call 414-902-2103 for tickets.
The Holiday Stroll is presented by BMO Harris Bank and Sendik’s Food Market. Major sponsors are Elements Therapeutic Massage and Teklynx Americas. Community sponsors include Bay Ridge Consulting, Breadsmith, Dan Fitzgerald Pharmacy, Fitness Together, Johnson Bank, Placesetters and Andrew Chevrolet. The Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District is pleased to produce the Holiday Stroll along with our community partners: the Village of Whitefish Bay, the Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation, North Milwaukee Shore Lions and the Milwaukee Ballet School.
