What Are Your Favorite Spots In Milwaukee?
We've got this cool thing down and Milwaukee made MSN's top 10 coolest cities in the midwest, but we could show off our coolness a little more in our photo gallery.
Milwaukee made MSN's list of the top 10 coolest cities in the midwest, but we know there's a lot more cool to be had than just a few photos of SummerFest, the Milwaukee Brewers stadium and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
We define cool here because well... it's cold here and we tend to warm up with a beer or two, and hey, cool things just naturally happen.
So we wondered if you would upload a few pictures of what defines Milwaukee's coolness. I already added a few of my favorites.

It depends on where you go for information. Forbes has Milwaukee as #1 drunk city.
"But Milwaukee isn't just your average brewing town. It's the hardest-drinking city in America, according to Forbes.com's ranking of America's Drunkest Cities."

I find nothing attractive about the City - give me the Country - but the few times I went out in Milwaukee it was to bars, and a huge drunkfest, but then I was there to drink. Things I sort of remember: Getting into that bar with the video camera audition first, NITRO - the ride home, after too many Tequila Sunrises - telling the Driver to pull over and puking on the side of I-94. Summerfest - Being crushed to death by smelly male drunks as my girlfriend wanted to see Eddie Money up close, The bar before it was "On The Border" with the barber chair - get in, sit down, take a shot and they throw the seat back, and some huge bar with picnic tables and everybody slamming beer. Also - every house I toured to possibly purchase had shag carpeting and a bar in the basement. Kelvinator refrigerators designed for a Keg and a handle on the door.

I'm not a drunk so ummm... I don't own the drunkest city designation... but I do enjoy a beverage every now and then.

I have no pictures to upload but I love Milwaukee. We have a terrific Art Museum, professional sports teams, a great theater district and some of the best restaurants in town all on a gorgeous lake. I love walking and biking in the cute neighborhoods and on the wonderful bike trails. I wouldn't live anywhere else despite the fact it is 5 degrees out.
While I too enjoy an adult beverage I really wish we could shed the reputation of drinking, or over drinking, in this town. There is nothing cool about over imbibing and driving drunk or the wrong way on the freeway - both of which are huge problems around here. No one over the age of 24 really wants to be around a drunk either. With our lax drunk driving laws and the amount of deaths that have occurred I really think the drinking thing is nothing to be proud of, touted or laughed about.

More of an event than a spot, I think the Milwaukee Veterans Day Parade is the best parade around. I'd guess you could drink a few while watching it, if that's your thing.

No Pics, Personally I like Brady Street and the 3rd ward as soon as the weather is warm enough for the sidewalk cafes to open. I don't like the parking machines in the 3rd ward and downtown. I generally find something unique that I just have to have.

The remnants of Milwaukee's "Gold Coast" on Milwaukee's east side. There are still quite a few architectural treasures nestled among the medium-rise condo buildings. Yes, there are negative connotations associated with the pre-socialist history of the über-wealthy of our city (as in egregious treatment of resources and workers), but there are also First Families who have done amazing work in bringing art and culture to our city. Descendants of several of those families are still with us, and their names and other great families are still found in the museums and music venues of Milwaukee. That's the legacy I cherish.

There are some lovely neighborhoods to walk through if you're looking for architecture. The Washington Highlands in Wauwatosa is nice. And I think there are a few of the old mansions left along Highland Blvd. further east.

Milwaukee is not as cool as it could be do to ineffective leadership. We start at the top with Mayor Barrett, common council, and supervisors. There is not a dynamic leader in Milwaukee anymore, too bad.

Get rid of barrett, the mayor, get rid of abele, the county exec, change the Milwaukee Common Council, change the County Board (Make them smaller) Keep Sheriff Clarke, build the high-rise where the lake front transit center is. Don't have a trolley line, add more small busses. Cutluraly, I think it's a great city with lots of activities. If you can't find something to do in the Milwaukee area, you're not looking.
