Week Ahead: The Great Pumpkin Festival, Trick or Treating

Here's a look at some of the things happening in Whitefish Bay this week.

 

It's a pretty eventful week, as The Great Pumpkin Festival returns to the Bay starting Thursday. In addition to the pumpkin festival, check out some of the other events happening in the Bay this week. If we're missing something important to you, add it to the calendar.

 

The Great Pumpkin Festival: The Whitefish Bay Civic Foundation will present The Great Pumpkin Festival at Old Schoolhouse Park from from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday. Stop by and carve one of the 1,000 pumpkins, listen to live local music and enjoy food from Pandl’s Whitefish Bay Inn. 


Trick or treat:
If you're taking the little ones out for trick or treating, you have two chances this weekend: Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Silver Spring businesses and door-to-door during the village's trick or treat hours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. If you haven't already, you can also submit your photos to our nationwide Halloween costume contest. 


Hallowscream:
The Whitefish Bay Women's Club will host "Hallowscream" from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and includes games, costume parade and pumpkin decorating.


Library gets spooky:
The Whitefish Bay Public Library has a couple fun options for the kids this week. They can decorate monster cookies at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday or enjoy Halloween crafts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. 


Mystery theater:
Dominican High School theater students will present "And Then There Were None", an Agatha Christie detective mystery, running Thursday through Sunday.


Jewish films:
The 14th Annual Milwaukee Jewish Film Festival will be held Monday through Thursday at the Marcus North Shore Cinema in Mequon. The film festival is sponsored by the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center.

rying to avoid the flu this year? A flu shot clinic will be administered by the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Fitzgerald's Pharmacy.
