Rug Store Shifts Plans to Open Next Door

Rustam Gallery of Fine Rugs owner originally had his sights set on 505 E. Silver Spring Dr., but now, he plans to open next door to The Great Frame Up space.

The oriental rug store that originally planned to open in the storefront currently occupied by Gallery 505 is now planning to open in the space next door.

Rustam Gallery of Fine Rugs received its conditional use permit from the village's Plan Commission Wednesday night to open at 507 E. Silver Spring Drive. Last month, the business to open next door at 505 E. Silver Spring Drive.

and , both owned by Tom Harris, are a couple doors east to the space now occupied by , which is going out of business.

Rustam Zulfakar, the owner of Rustam Gallery of Fine Rugs, has been doing business in Cedarburg for nearly 12 years, and he said he decided to branch out with a new location on Silver Spring Drive because he and his wife often drive here for rug repairs.

In addition to selling rugs, Rustam Gallery of Fine Rugs will also repair, buy, trade, appraise and hand wash rugs. The business plans to be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
