Police Report: GPS, Radar Detector Stolen From Vehicle

The latest news from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

On the heels of , another vehicle was reportedly broken into the previous night - only this time a GPS device and a radar detector were stolen.

On Thursday, a resident reported an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway on the 1800 block of East Hampton Road was broken into sometime between 6:30 pm Jan. 28 and 10 a.m. Jan. 29.

  • Three chairs at were damaged by three boys Friday afternoon, a witness told police. The witness said the boys intentionally broke the chairs behind the warming house at 3:30 p.m.
  • A resident on the 4900 block of North Marlborough Drive reported a swastika was footprinted into the snow in their yard. The swastika was reported at 8:51 a.m. Jan. 30, and the homeowner said the trespasser entered the lawn at midnight.
  • A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving at 2:30 a.m. Jan. 30 in the 4800 block of North Larkin Avenue. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.10. He was cited with operating with prohibited blood alcohol content, operating while intoxicated, operating after suspension, and driving 41 mph in a 25 mph zone.
  • A 40-year-old Bayside woman was cited for retail theft after stealing roughly $70 in merchandise from , 500 E Silver Spring Dr., at about 6 p.m. Jan 30. The next day, a 39-year-old Mequon man was arrested for retail theft at 6:16 p.m. for stealing roughly $13 in merchandise from Sendik’s. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.083.
  • Police responded to the 5500 block of North Shoreland Avenue at 1:55 a.m. Friday morning on the report of a man throwing snowballs at a house. The 40-year-old Washington man said he was just saying hello to a friend.
  • A 19-year-old Whitefish Bay man was cited for underage alcohol consumption after he fell asleep in the entranceway to , 240 E. Hampton Rd., at 6:27 p.m. Sunday.
  • Police received a fireworks complaint  at 6:48 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of North Lake Drive, but officers were unable to locate any fireworks.
  • A 21-year-old Whitefish Bay man was hit by a car at 7:50 a.m. on Henry Clay Street near Kimbark Avenue. The police report states the man may have been injured, but no injuries were apparent. The report states the 32-year-old woman driving the vehicle was driving too fast for conditions.
  • A Whitefish Bay woman on Tuesday reported she received two fake money orders in exchange for cosmetics. She told police she sent $600 by Western Union to someone in New York before realizing the money orders were bad.
  • The large amounts of snow dumped on the village this week led many kids to pick up their sleds and head to , but sledding is prohibited in the park. Officers advised kids and adults sledding during at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday to stop and go home.
  • Two Brown Deer men, ages 23 and 30, were found at Klode Park at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday. They had been drinking and told police they went down to the lake to watch waves. Their van was towed after it got stuck in the snow and the men were cited for staying beyond park hours.
