Mandel Development Nearing Final Approval
The Village Board will act on a development agreement with The Mandel Group over a 100-unit apartment development built on top of the parking lot north of Silver Spring Drive.
The Village Board will cast a conclusive vote on the Mandel Group's proposed apartment development Monday night.
Trustees are slated to take action on the development agreement, which is the final village approval needed for the project to move forward. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Village Hall. The meeting packet can be downloaded here.
The three-building, 100-unit apartment development would be constructed in the parking lots bordered by Santa Monica Boulevard, Beaumont Avenue, Consaul Place and the alley abutting the rear end of Silver Spring businesses.
At Monday night's meeting, trustees will also vote to rezone the development site as a planned development district.
As a technical matter, the trustees will also vote on the village vacating the southern 21 feet of the 300 and 400 blocks of Beaumont Avenue and the north-south public alley connecting Beaumont to the east-west alley between the 300 blocks of Beaumont and Silver Spring Drive.

Last chance, if you've got an objection to this project, to make that known to the folks who, ultimately, are going to be signing off on it. Any complaints after-the-fact are gonna ring pretty hollow if no effort was made to make them directly to the people charged with the decision.

Do you know what department or office we would contact ? One issue I would like to bring up would be for the village to put a temporary "no time limit" street parking within a half mile radius if the project. That way those of us that work in the FoxBay bldg could park on more surrounding streets and free up the remaining parking for our clients. Sure would be nice I'd those businesses that HAVE THEIR OWN PARKJNG LOTS would let THEIR employees park there instead of taking up the VALUBLE public parking lots that the FoxBay businesses need for their clients, patients, and customers.

Linda, in lieu of someone else being able to give you a direct connection for that, you may want to call the general Village Hall number (962-6690). I think if you explain your concern (which is pretty specific) they should be able to direct you to the proper department. Or you could try searching the list of departments on the Village website...

...but you might be better off just calling the general number.
