Koss Donates Headphones to Trees From Home

Headphones will be included in each of the care packages the organization sends with the 2,500 decorated miniature Christmas trees to troops overseas during the holidays.

Last year, Koss donated 1,500 headphones to be sent in Trees From Home's care packages, and now that the organization has set its sights on sending 2,500 packages, Koss agreed to match that donation.

The headphones, which have a $30 retail value, will be included in each of the 2,500 care packages that Trees From Home will send with the 2,500 decorated miniature Christmas trees to troops overseas.

"The soldiers love the earbuds," Trees From Home President Julie Stuhlmacher said. "That is one of the things the soldiers always remark on.

Koss' partnership with the organization goes back to Trees From Home's first year, 2009. One of the Trees From Home board members, Cynthia Day Campbell, of Whitefish Bay, volunteered to offer headphones in the care packages.

"Koss has been a wonderful partner for us," she said.

The organization needs to raise $50,000 to assemble and ship the 2,500 trees and care packages. They kicked off their fundraising drive during in June, and so far they have raised $7,000. Stuhlmacher said she hopes to ship everything out on Nov. 16, so the soldiers get the packages by Christmastime.

Trees From Home began its work in 2009, with 1,030 trees shipped overseas that year. The next year, they shipped 1,530 trees to the troops.
