WisSports announced Wednesday that Weber received the Jim Leonhard award, which is named after the University of Wisconsin alumni who now plays for the Denver Broncos.
Weber has received All-Conference honors at both receiver and defensive back in his career. In his senior year, Weber racked up 121 tackles (77 solo), 5 interceptions, and 11 pass break-ups, according to WisSports. He returned one of those interceptions for a touchdown and also blocked two kicks.
“I have coached 36 years with two players in the NFL and he is as good as them,” head coach Jim Tietjen told WisSports.
