Last week's Whitefish Bay police reports read like a scene straight out of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

Four people were cited at 3:30 a.m. Saturday for stealing Christmas decorations from three homes in the 4900 block of Ardmore Avenue: a wooden snowman and cloth Santa Claus door decoration from one house, a stuffed red-and-white Snoopy decoration from another house and garland from another house.

The vehicle, a silver Audi, was stopped by Shorewood police in the 3900 block of Morris Boulevard. A 21-year-old Madison man, a 24-year-old Milwaukee man, a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman were cited for theft.

Drive-by eggings on Saturday night

• A resident called the police department at 9 p.m. Dec. 1 to report a van throwing eggs at passing cars on Lydell Avenue at Chateau Place. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

• An hour later, a homeowner in the 4900 block of Ardmore Avenue reported an egg was thrown at an upstairs window.

• On the same night, a vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Henry Clay Street was egged on the driver's side, hood and trunk of the vehicle. The vehicle owner believes it happened between 5 p.m. Saturday and 12:25 a.m. Sunday.

• A 19-year-old Whitefish Bay man was cited for backing into a fire hydrant at 10 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 5000 block of Palisades Drive.

• A lawnmower was reported stolen from an unlocked garage in the 5200 block of North Berkeley Boulevard sometime betwen Nov. 20 and Nov. 21.
